Business Experience
My first job was with the National Bank of Detroit. I began working on my 16th birthday and remained there until high school graduation. Next I worked at Prudential Insurance Company until the first of my three children were born. After college graduation, I began working for a financial planning firm in their tax planning department as well as auditing real estate investment trusts. I also worked at K-Mart world headquarters in Troy, MI, auditing real estate leases with landlords for all K-Mart stores worldwide. In 1995 I became the manager of an insurance agency dealing with auto, homeowners, life insurance as well as mutual funds and other securities.
In addition to these positions I also began my own tax preparation and accounting business after college graduation.
